Hart Union High School District of Los Angeles County, California in compliance with AB 1565, shall require all general contractors and, if utilized, all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing subcontractors on public works governed by Public Contract Code Section 20111.6 to be pre-qualified prior to submitting bids for certain public works. It is mandatory that all Contractors, who intend to submit bids, complete the pre-qualification package and be approved by the District to be on a final bidders list. No bid for these certain public works projects will be accepted from Contractors that fail to comply with these requirements. Prequalification applications may be submitted four times each year: (1) from January 1 through January 10; (2) from April 1 through April 10; (3) from July 1 through July 10; and (4) from October 1 through October 10. On Friday, January 25, 2008, at approximately 11:46 p.m., Alvaro Ely Calderon was walking down the street near the intersection of Strathern Street and Bellaire Avenue, when he was shot in the torso by an unknown assailant. LAPD is still searching for the individual(s) responsible for this crime, and encourages witnesses to come forward, even anonymously, to assist them in their investigation. The person or persons responsible for this crime represent an ongoing threat to the safety of the people of Los Angeles. Los Angeles Daily News, NOTICE OF RENEWAL OF TITLE V PERMIT The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) is the air pollution control agency for all of Orange County and portions of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Rule 3006 requires that the AQMD publish this notice prior to the renewal of a Title V permit previously issued to the facility listed below: Equilon Enter. LLC dba Shell Oil Prod. US 8100 Haskell Ave. Van Nuys, CA 91406 Facility ID# 800369 Contact Person: Michael Huang Facilities Manager 20945 South Wilmington Avenue Carson, CA 90810 This is an existing facility that is applying for a Title V permit renewal. Equilon owns and operates a petroleum products distribution terminal facility in Van Nuys, CA. It receives petroleum products and additives via pipeline and trucks. It then distributes the products from storage tanks into tanker truck via loading racks. This facility consists of internal floating roof storage tanks, loading racks, a carbon adsorber to control emissions from the loading operation, and other support equipment. Pursuant to Title V of the federal Clean Air Act and AQMD Rule 3004(f), a Title V permit shall expire five years from the date of issuance, unless such permit has been renewed. Accordingly, the above facility has submitted a Title V renewal application and requested that AQMD renew their Title V permit. The proposed permit incorporates updates to the facility information, as provided in the facility's Title V renewal application, as well as updates to all rules and regulations that are currently applicable to the facility. As required by Title V of the federal Clean Air Act, the Title V permits include all of the emission limits, applicable requirements and operating conditions imposed on the equipment. Title V facilities are required to certify compliance with the Title V permits in addition to recordkeeping and mandatory reporting of any deviation from the permit conditions. The proposed permit is available for public review at AQMD, 21865 Copley Dr., Diamond Bar, CA 91765 and at the Van Nuys Branch Library, 6250 Sylmar Ave., Van Nuys, CA. The proposed permit can also be viewed at http://www3.aqmd.gov/webappl/PublicNotices2/Search.aspx by entering the facility's ID number. Information regarding the facility owner's compliance history submitted to the AQMD pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Section 42336, or otherwise known to the AQMD based on credible information, is also available from the AQMD for public review. A JOC is a competitively bid, firm fixed priced, indefinite quantity contract. The scope of work includes a collection of detailed repair and construction tasks and specifications that have established unit prices. It is placed with the "Contractor" for the accomplishment of repair, alteration, modernization, maintenance, rehabilitation, demolition and construction of infrastructure, buildings, structures, or other real property. Work is accomplished by means of issuance of a purchase order against the JOC. Under the JOC concept, the Contractor furnishes all management, documentation, labor, materials, and equipment needed to perform the work. The JOC awarded under this solicitation will have a no minimum value and a maximum value of $3,000,000. The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) solicits technical information or comments on proposed flood hazard determinations for the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), and where applicable, the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for your community.
